How to Dress for Work

If you work in an office environment, chances are there’s that one woman everyone envies… you know the one I’m talking about. The stiletto heels, the tight sweaters, the short skirts – why can’t you be like her, you wonder?

Simple – it’s not work-appropriate!

She may seem like she gets all the attention, and truth be told, she probably does. But it’s not the kind of attention you want to be getting at work. No one respects the “office tramp,” for lack of a better term – but you can look sexy at work without going overboard.

How sexy is too sexy? What can you do to balance office appropriate attire and something a little more revealing?

The following guide will show you how to look good and still have some respect from your co-workers and supervisor – can the mini-skirt girl say that?

Pantsuit/Skirt Suit
Don’t underestimate the allure of your basic pantsuit. You’ll enhance your professional image and look good at the same time.

Depending on your office dress code, you can jazz up a basic black pantsuit with a neutral colored camisole underneath. Find one with lacy detailing, but don’t make it too pajama-like. You can have a v-neck, but if your cleavage pops out it’s too much for work!
The goal is to look both classy and sexy, and a basic pantsuit can do that for you.

If you prefer skirts over pants, a skirt suit paired with a classy pair of heels will look amazing. Just remember, if a skirt falls more than three inches above your knees, it’s too short!

If you want to jazz things up a bit and your office dress code allows, you can move away from the suits and pair a tan or black pair of dress slacks with a white button down. This classic combination looks stunning with the right accessories – but save extra “bling” for after work!

A basic silver bangle or gold dangle earrings will look fresh for work and will look great with almost anything.

Ultimately, what you wear to work will depend on the office dress code. Find out what looks good on you, and strut your stuff in style at the office! Just remember – if you’d wear it to a party, it shouldn’t be worn to work!
