How to Fix Fashion Emergencies

Let’s face it, ladies – we all have them. Fashion emergencies are no joke, and can leave us feeling less than stylish when all is said and done.

Fortunately, I’ve discovered a few easy – and surprising – tips to quickly correct several common fashion emergencies that crop up. The next time one of these unexpected problems occurs, you’ll be glad you know these simple tips to fixing even the worst fashion disaster.

Panty Hose Travails
Got a run in those panty hose? It’s a common problem, but there are a couple of options to stopping a little snag in its tracks. Grab a bottle of clear fingernail polish and dab it on the run to stop it from tearing into a gaping hole. It’s an old trick, but it works! You can also try a bit of hairspray, but be warned – it won’t last long.

Stains
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve smeared makeup on my shirt when I’m at a party or get-together. It’s embarrassing, and using water only seems to make it worse! Carry around a travel-size pack of baby wipes in your purse for just such an emergency. The wipes will eliminate or reduce the makeup stain, depending on the severity of it. Simple!

Broken Heel
If you broke a heel, you’re going to be staying in one spot the entire evening, and that’s no fun! Grab a tube of crazy glue, and stick that sucker back on. It’ll hold for at least the remainder of the evening, so you can enjoy yourself.

Zipper Problems
I was at a party once when my zipper got stuck. Try as I might, I could not get it undone for the life of me. I had to wait in the restroom until another woman came in, and then ask her for help. Talk about embarrassing!

Well, I wish I would have known this trick when it happened to me, but to un-stick a zipper that just won’t budge, take a bar of soap and rub it on the zipper to get it unstuck. Sounds odd, but it works – and it’s a lot better than asking a stranger for help!

If you encounter one of these fashion emergencies, at least now you’ll be prepared. Consider making a little fashion emergency kit like I did – that way, you’ll be prepared to fix nearly any problem that comes up.
